On the first Sunday in February I began our new subseries, "Guess Who Is Coming To Dinner." This subseries, of our year long "Table" series, leads us to look around at our table. It leads us to take an honest look at our own attitudes that may be creating barriers and obstacles that would distract us from impacting the lives of those individuals God has place in our path. We began this journey by looking back at Jonah and analyzing the steps that make up the Jonahfication Factor. These steps are 1.) Arrogance, 2.) Accomodation, and 3.)Rejection. I will be reminding us of these destructive steps over the coming weeks as we look at "Guess Who Is Coming To Dinner." A second element of this series will be our Sunday night Connect. This Connect will be unlike our fall connect which met in small groups in homes around town. For this, we will all meet together at the church on Sunday nights at 6:00 p.m. We will be looking at the series by Dan Kimball entitled "They Like Jesus But Not The Church – Responding to Culture's Objections to Christianity." I know that you will gain a great deal from our look at this time together. There are participants' guides in the entryway, you may pick up your copy on Sunday morning or that evening before Connect. If finances keep you from being able to take a guide please take one anyway. Youth and children will meet at the church for their own connect time at 6:00 p.m. as well.

The third element of the series is our Winter Conference that will be on Saturday night, February 28 at 6:00pm, and then on Sunday morning, March 1 at 10:30 a.m. and that evening at 6:00 p.m. Youth will be joining the adults for this conference while the children will have their own sessions. Korey Buchanek will be our speaker at the conference and I know that you will enjoy him and gain from what he has to share. Korey started Hope Valley Church in the Green Valley Ranch area of Denver, Colorado. He has led the church to take some very unique approaches to reach this very un-churched area. We will be taking a group of youth and adults to Denver this summer to assist Korey and his church, He will be sharing about that trip over lunch on Sunday, March 1 for those that may be interested in being a part of this impact effort. Brady and Jennifer White, who make up the band WRENT, will be leading us in praise during the conference. Brady and Jennifer will be a blessing to you through their music and spirit. I pray that you will make this conference a priority on your schedule and be at all three sessions. I pray that God will use all of this to get us ready and prepared to greet the world at our table! Bridges Fitness Center Needs Bridges, our community impact project, is converting their present storage area to a fitness area thanks to a new storage building. The Jr. League is helping them with this project and will be doing the work on the new fitness room on February 24 as part of their “Done in a Day.” They are now collecting good, working fitness equipment to help the students to keep in good health. If you have a treadmill, stairmaster, or any other type of fitness equipment, please contact Miranda Reader at by February 14.
